A leading national law firm is seeking a Property Damage Recoveries Solicitor (NQ) to join its specialist Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regarded defendant insurance practice, handling a diverse caseload of Household and Commercial Property recovery claims for major insurer clients.
As a Property Damage Recoveries Solicitor (NQ) in the Manchester team, you’ll manage your own caseload of high‑value and complex matters, gain hands‑on advocacy experience, and contribute to client training and development initiatives within a supportive and well‑structured department.
The Role
- Managing a caseload of Household and Commercial Property recovery claims
- Handling high‑value and technically complex insurance litigation matters
- Drafting pleadings, correspondence and legal documentation
- Conducting legal research and reviewing evidence
- Instructing counsel and experts and preparing cases for trial
- Engaging in settlement negotiations and ADR processes including mediation
- Attending hearings to develop advocacy skills
- Supporting client training, seminars and technical workshops
The Candidate
- Newly Qualified Solicitor with a training seat or experience in insurance litigation
- Strong technical skills with clear and concise drafting ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client‑focused approach
- Organised and able to prioritise a busy and varied caseload
- Confident liaising with insurer and lay clients
- Willingness to engage in business development and client training activities
- Familiarity with case management systems advantageous
- Proactive, detail‑driven and committed to high‑quality work
