A highly regarded national insurance litigation practice is seeking a Defendant Personal Injury Solicitor to join its specialist Sports Claims team in Leeds. You’ll work within a well-established casualty department, supporting senior lawyers on complex, high-value matters while managing your own caseload of EL/PL claims.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop niche expertise within sports-related litigation, working in a collaborative and well-resourced environment with strong progression prospects.
The Role:- Manage a varied caseload of defendant EL/PL personal injury claims
- Assist senior lawyers on complex and high-value sports-related matters
- Handle claims on behalf of sporting organisations, clubs and insurers
- Review and manage disclosure, including large-scale document exercises and e-discovery
- Draft witness statements, reports and legal documentation
- Instruct counsel and expert witnesses
- Undertake legal and factual research to support case strategy
- Prepare for and attend hearings, conferences and client meetings
- Maintain regular communication with clients and third parties
- Ensure compliance with CPR and procedural requirements
- Deliver high standards of client service throughout
- Solicitor or CILEX-qualified Lawyer with 2–4 years’ PQE
- Experience managing defendant EL/PL personal injury claims
- Strong understanding of negligence, liability and health & safety law
- Knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and litigation processes
- Experience handling disclosure and drafting key legal documents
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and client handling ability
- Highly organised with strong time management skills
- A proactive and collaborative approach
- Interest in sports-related matters (desirable)
- Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience
