A leading Top 40 UK law firm is looking to appoint an Insolvency Partner to join its expanding Birmingham office, as part of the continued growth of its specialist disputes and restructuring offering.
This is a strategic senior hire, offering the opportunity to take a leading role in developing the firm’s contentious insolvency capability in the Midlands, working closely with an established disputes team and a well-regarded non-contentious restructuring practice.
You will advise a high-quality and diverse client base, including insolvency practitioners, lenders, directors, shareholders, and corporate entities, both domestically and internationally. The work will include a broad mix of high-value and complex matters, such as:
- Insolvency litigation and office-holder claims
- Wrongful trading, misfeasance, and breach of fiduciary duty claims
- Transaction avoidance (preferences, transactions at undervalue)
- Director and shareholder disputes arising from distressed situations
- Enforcement of security and recovery actions
- Cross-border insolvency and related disputes
- Corporate restructuring, acquisition, and other consensual arrangements between stakeholders
The Candidate:
- An experienced Insolvency Lawyer operating at Partner level, or a Legal Director / Senior Associate / Managing Associate ready to step up
- Strong technical expertise across insolvency-related disputes and litigation
- A proven or developing client following, with the ability to generate work and build a pipeline through networking and business development activity
- Commercially driven, with the ambition to establish and grow a leading contentious insolvency offering in the region
- Experience gained within a reputable regional, national, or international firm
- Motivated by a clear progression pathway, with aspirations toward Equity Partnership
