A leading UK law firm is looking to recruit an experienced Healthcare Regulatory Senior Associate / Principal Associate to join its specialist regulatory team in Birmingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare regulatory lawyer to work on complex and sensitive professional discipline matters, advising organisations and regulators across a range of sectors.
The role offers significant client contact, responsibility for high-profile cases and opportunities to contribute to the development of junior lawyers and the wider practice.
You will join an established and supportive team working on challenging matters where professional standards, public protection and regulatory compliance are at the forefront.
The Role
- Manage a varied caseload of complex healthcare regulatory, professional discipline and advisory matters
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day conduct of matters with a high degree of autonomy
- Advise clients on sensitive and high-risk professional conduct and fitness to practise issues
- Develop clear case strategies and provide advice on procedural and evidential matters
- Review and prepare witness statements and supporting evidence
- Instruct and liaise with expert witnesses and other external specialists
- Prepare instructions to counsel and attend conferences and hearings where appropriate
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear and practical legal advice
- Supervise, mentor and develop junior lawyers and support staff
- Delegate work effectively and provide constructive feedback Identify potential issues and provide strategic recommendations to clients
- Contribute to client training, knowledge sharing and business development initiatives
- Support the continued development and improvement of team processes and service delivery
- Prepare high-quality reports and documentation at the conclusion of matters
About You
- A Qualified Solicitor with substantial experience in healthcare regulatory, professional discipline, litigation or advisory work
- Strong experience handling complex and sensitive matters with a high degree of autonomy
- Experience of fitness to practise, professional standards or regulatory work
- Confident managing cases from initial assessment through to resolution
- Experience supervising, mentoring and developing junior colleagues
- Excellent client management and relationship-building skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly
- Confident dealing with clients, counsel, experts and other stakeholders
- Commercially aware with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A genuine interest in developing client relationships and contributing to business development
