About Lottie Shaw’s

The urge to review one of her family favourite recipes; The Yorkshire Parkin cake, a classic much-loved regional bonfire treat, led to Lottie to create her own brand…Lottie Shaw’s. Convinced once peoples tasted her authentic sticky ginger cake; a blend of oatmeal, ginger and black treacle, folk would enjoy it far & wide, all year round… and the rest as they say is history!

Crowned as the ‘Official Taste of Yorkshire’ in 2018, Lottie Shaw’s is based in Brighouse within a new 12,500 sqft state of the art bakery. Combining sustainable practices with a pride and passion for the tradition of ‘scratch baking’, Lottie Shaw’s continues to bake award‑winning seriously good treats with the authentic taste of Yorkshire home baking.

Since April 2024 Lottie Shaw’s has joined the Jacksons’ and William Jackson Food Group’s family, bringing two family‑run, Yorkshire businesses together. It’s an exciting time to join our craft bakery!

About the role

A key member of the Lottie Shaw’s Management team, helping to drive the business forward in a profitable manner, offering valuable insights and process improvement through accurate and timely reporting to both internal and external stakeholders. Taking the lead on financial matters and ensuring delivery of business and operational objectives.

Key role responsibilities

  • Finance business partner and advisor to the Business Unit Lead and General Manager taking lead on financial matters and ensuring delivery of business objectives
  • Preparation of the Weekly/ Monthly accounts and supporting KPI’s to supply variance analysis and commentary for Financial performance
  • Drive improvements to performance and procedures, through identification of relevant data, reporting and CI planning
  • Develop and maintain costings of all live SKUs to capture key, raw materials, labour and supply chain information
  • Provide accurate new product costings in a timely manner to support the NPD Process
  • Lead the annual standard cost roll up for all live raw material, labour and finish goods costs
  • Responsibility for tracking in year savings for all CI initiatives and capital proposals
  • Working closely with the Lottie Shaw’s Management team to produce robust budget and in year forecasts, including review pack which summarises key assumptions, along with drivers and drainers
  • Ad hoc, proactive investigation, reports, capital proposals and financial propositions relevant to business/ function strategy and performance
  • Be the key finance support for overhead spend approval and reporting, holding regular reviews with stakeholders with the focus on spending control
  • Management of accruals and prepayments
  • Month End processing including Group packs.
  • Complete monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Support the line manager where required
  • Any other duties as requested by your line manager

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA)
  • Excel skills
  • Experience within a manufacturing business essential

Job commitments

This is a full time, permanent role, working Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week. You may be required to attend the Hull site occasionally.
