Role Description

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Bodffordd, Llangefni. The HGV Driver will be responsible for safely operating heavy goods vehicles to transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from civil engineering and utilities sites. Daily tasks include conducting vehicle inspections, loading and unloading materials, securing loads, and maintaining accurate delivery and compliance records. The role involves planning routes, following schedules, and adhering to all road, site, and safety regulations while representing the company professionally. The HGV Driver will work closely with site teams and supervisors to support project timelines and operational needs.

Please note, this is a dual-role position. In addition to driving duties, the successful candidate will be expected to support site teams with general civil engineering activities when vehicle operations are not required. Flexibility, a positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the wider team are essential.

Qualifications

  • Valid HGV licence and proven competence in operating heavy goods vehicles.
  • Strong driving skills, including safe maneuvering, reversing, and operating in construction or utilities site environments.
  • Experience with loading, unloading, and securing materials to prevent damage and ensure safety.
  • Good understanding of regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and road safety standards.
  • Clean or acceptable driving record and commitment to safe driving practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions, complete documentation accurately, and communicate clearly with site teams and supervisors.
  • Physical ability to handle manual tasks associated with loading/unloading and working on active construction sites.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Previous experience in civil engineering, construction, or utilities environments is an advantage.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work full time with flexibility for varying start times as project needs require.
