This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in strengthening our second line compliance oversight, driving improvements across our Compliance Issue Management Framework and helping ensure our UK licensed businesses continue to meet regulatory expectations.

Working across both our William Hill and 888 brands, you'll provide independent oversight and challenge to the first line, helping identify regulatory risks, monitor remediation activity and influence better customer and compliance outcomes. This role offers significant exposure across the business, partnering with stakeholders from Product, Operations, Technology, Risk and Legal, while supporting major regulatory programmes, governance forums and regulatory engagement.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading the UK Compliance Issue Management Framework, ensuring compliance issues are identified, assessed, escalated and managed through to effective resolution
  • Providing independent second line oversight and constructive challenge over regulatory risks, control effectiveness and remediation activities
  • Monitoring corrective actions to ensure root causes are addressed and sustainable improvements are implemented
  • Identifying emerging regulatory risks, recurring themes and opportunities to strengthen the UK control environment through analysis of compliance issues and assurance activity
  • Producing insightful management information, dashboards and governance reporting for senior management and UK Compliance forums
  • Supporting regulatory inspections, audits and regulatory information requests by coordinating evidence and demonstrating effective compliance oversight
  • Building strong relationships across the Three Lines of Defence, working collaboratively with business stakeholders to improve governance and regulatory compliance and acting as a trusted compliance partner, promoting a strong culture of regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across the business
  • Supporting the ongoing development of the UK Compliance Framework, including governance, policies, procedures and oversight methodologies and using data analytics, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve compliance oversight, reporting and issue management.

Who we are looking for:

We are committed to responsible gambling, and we are looking for people who can support our ethos. To apply for this role, you will have:

  • Experience in Compliance, Risk, Legal or Regulatory roles within heavily regulated environments, with excellent knowledge of UK gambling regulations, LCCP requirements and compliance best practice
  • Proven experience operating within a Three Lines of Defence framework, providing independent oversight, effective challenge and managing compliance issues, remediation activities and regulatory change programmes
  • Excellent analytical and governance capabilities, including interpreting data, identifying emerging risks, preparing high-quality management information and delivering practical, risk-based recommendations
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
