We’re looking for an Indirect Tax Manager to take charge of the delivery of indirect tax compliance (VAT and gaming duties) for the evoke Group. Reporting to the Group Head of Indirect Tax, you will manage a dedicated team in the Philippines. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a variety of tax areas and collaborate with multiple jurisdictions to ensure compliance and manage tax risks.
What you will be doing:
- Oversight of preparation and filing the quarterly UK, Ireland, Malta, Romania, Ceuta and Jersey VAT returns supported by various advisors as needed and review the calculation of VAT payments / payments on account.
- Owning and managing the preparation and filing of the monthly and quarterly gaming tax and duty returns and reviewing calculations of jurisdiction-specific taxable bases, ensuring these remain relevant and in line with tax laws in each jurisdiction.
- Ensuring we document our tax calculation policies and return submission processes.
- Managing a team in the Philippines as well as appointed tax contacts in the business in planning, coordinating and delivering indirect tax compliance (VAT and gambling tax returns and filings, payments and enquiries).
- Managing the group’s indirect tax compliance timetable (for all brands), ensuring that filings and tax payments deadlines for all group companies are accurately recorded and monitored.
- Identifying areas where controls can be enhanced and continuously assisting in improving the integrity of the VAT & gambling tax submission processes.
- Support the Head of Indirect Tax or wider Group Tax team in respect to ad-hoc projects as required.
- Lead the delivery of assurance reviews across our territories to monitor management compliance to the tax rules in place.
Who we are looking for:
- Be Accountancy or Tax Qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CTA, or ATT qualified); with experience of UK indirect taxes, and a good global awareness of indirect tax issues.
- Be a good communicator, confident and articulate in supporting the business and collaborating with advisers and have the ability to manage a team.
- Have an indirect tax compliance background.
- Possess the ability to quickly grasp complex commercial transactions, oversee their execution, and provide clear insights or assessments.
