Here at evoke plc we're seeking an experienced Financial Controls Testing Manager to support the delivery of the Group's UK Corporate Governance Code Provision 29 programme. Here you will be responsible for independently assessing the design and operating effectiveness of material financial controls that support the integrity of financial reporting, safeguarding of assets and key financial processes. This includes controls across financial close, reconciliations, revenue, payments, treasury, journal entries and entity-level controls.
In this role you'll independently execute testing, identify control deficiencies, document findings, agree remediation plans with control owners and support management's year-end assessment of control effectiveness.
What you will be doing:- Execute Design Effectiveness (DE) and Operating Effectiveness (OE) testing of material financial controls
- Conduct walkthroughs with Finance, Treasury, Investor Relations and Company Secretariat stakeholders
- Test controls relating to:
- Financial reporting and financial close processes
- Financial review and management oversight activities
- Treasury governance and liquidity management
- External reporting and market disclosure processes
- Financial risk management and scenario analysis
- Governance and approval processes supporting significant financial decisions
- Accounting policy and judgement oversight
- Evaluate the adequacy of control design and operating effectiveness.
- Identify control deficiencies, root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Produce clear testing documentation, findings and recommendations.
- Agree remediation actions with control owners and track delivery to completion.
- Support reporting of testing outcomes, deficiencies and remediation progress.

- Experience testing controls across financial reporting and financial process cycles
- Strong understanding of entity-level controls and financial governance frameworks
- Ability to independently perform walkthroughs, DE testing and OE testing with experience producing high-quality testing documentation and assurance reports.
