An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales Engineer to join a growing UK-based engineering business specialising in instrumentation and innovative solutions for the water and wastewater sectors.
The company designs and manufactures its own specialist product range for water and wastewater measurement, monitoring and control, having invested significantly in research and development to bring innovative solutions to market.
As the business enters an exciting phase of growth, it is looking for an energetic, commercially minded individual who can help accelerate sales across the UK and Europe, develop new markets and strengthen relationships with existing customers and channel partners.

The Role
You'll play a key role in developing the company's sales function and expanding its customer and distribution network.
Your responsibilities will include
- Developing and growing the existing UK and European customer base.
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities to accelerate sales growth.
- Taking new products to market and developing opportunities within sectors including construction and infrastructure.
- Proactively developing the company's sales strategy and commercial activity.
- Visiting customers, prospects and partners across the UK and Europe.
- Introducing customers to the product portfolio and delivering product demonstrations and training where required.
- Identifying, appointing and developing new agents and distribution partners across the UK and Europe.
- Monitoring developments across the water and wastewater markets and identifying
- Working closely with technical, operations and marketing colleagues to deliver a joined-up customer experience.
- Supporting contract negotiations, resolving customer issues and developing long-term commercial relationships.
- The Person
This role would suit an experienced technical sales professional who combines commercial drive with a genuine understanding of engineering and water/wastewater markets.
You'll ideally have
- At least 5 years' experience in technical sales, within the wastewater and water treatment environment
- A proven track record of delivering sales growth and winning new business.
- Experience selling technical products or solutions such as process instrumentation, level and flow measurement, water quality instrumentation, pumps, valves or related technologies.
- A strong understanding of the water and wastewater routes to market.
- Experience selling into water companies and industrial sectors such as food & beverage, pharmaceutical, manufacturing or environmental industries.
- A demonstrable ability to identify new opportunities, develop new markets and build a sales pipeline from scratch.
- The ability to bring new ideas, challenge existing approaches and identify ways to increase market penetration.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities independently.
- The ability to work effectively across sales, marketing, operations and technical/R&D functions.
