The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.
We are currently seeking a time-served Cooper to join our Girvan site. You'll maintain and repair all cask stocks held for both WG&S and customers, ensuring that they are 100% fit for purpose at point of use. You'll also address rejuvenation of stock and carry out assessment checks on all casks as required for coopering / rejuvenation.
Main Responsibility
- Cask inspection – carry out a quality assessment of stock and repair / rejuvenate as necessary.
- Ensure daily and weekly targets are achieved and records updated.
- Safe operation of all cooperage equipment, in line with work instructions and risk assessments.
- Carry out assessment checks and report / record on site empty cask database.
- Ensure the Health, Safety & Welfare of self and others while carrying out operations.
- Clean and maintain area of team responsibility at or above site standards.
- Use and maintain equipment responsibly and in accordance with all training and instruction.
- Contribute appropriately to team meetings supporting and implementing team plans and initiatives.

Our ideal candidate is a time-served Cooper , and a self-starter with an excellent safety track record. Working accurately is important, so you will have good attention to detail and be able to understand and follow process. When things don’t go to plan you’ll be resilient, have a solution focused approach and make sure you support the wider team. Knowledge of HSE, HMRC, SEPA and other regulatory requirements would be an advantage, as would an awareness of barcoding operations.
