William Edwards School is looking to appoint an effective, enthusiastic, and experienced Cover Supervisor to join our friendly and supportive team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high‑quality learning experiences and assist in the support and development of students throughout the school.

Hours of work

Monday 8:00am – 4:00pm; Tuesday–Thursday 8:30am – 4:30pm; Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm plus inset days.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy.
  • Providing feedback to the classroom teacher on the pupil's progress against lesson plans and conduct of the lesson.
  • Keeping pupil‑related records.
  • Providing additional support to teachers in classrooms and carrying out administrative tasks when not covering a class.
  • Reporting pupil and school issues in line with the school's policies for health and safety, child protection, behaviour management, etc.

Qualifications

Applicants should have experience as a cover supervisor, with a strong understanding of school policies on health and safety, child protection and behaviour management. Enthusiasm and a proactive approach to supporting both students and teachers are essential.
