About the Role
The Assessment Officer is responsible for the coordination and administration of examinations at William College, ensuring compliance with regulations and partner university requirements while providing smooth, professional support to candidates. The postholder will manage examination schedules, liaise with academic and external stakeholders, and analyse assessment data to support reporting and strategic decision-making. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
The Assessment Officer works closely with academic staff, Module Leaders, faculty, and external examination boards to uphold the integrity and efficiency of examination processes.
Key Responsibilities
Examination Planning and Logistics
- Develop and implement examination schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Coordinate examination logistics and distribute materials in line with university guidelines.
- Use examination management systems for scheduling and result processing.
Compliance and Data Management
- Ensure compliance with partners' examination policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of candidate details, results, and feedback.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of examination data.
- Generate reports and statistics on assessment records for internal and external use.
Student and Stakeholder Support
- Provide support and information to students regarding examination processes.
- Address examination-related inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Collaborate with academic staff, faculty, and external examination boards.
Person Specification
Essential
- Strong data analysis skills, particularly in MS Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros, and complex formulas).
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and examination software.
- Experience in examination administration or a related role in a UK University.
