About the Role
The Campus Operations Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and compliant running of the Leeds campus. This role oversees daily operations, facilities, and administrative services while supporting staff, students, and visitors. Working closely with central teams in HR, Finance, IT, and Procurement, the Coordinator ensures the campus remains safe, well‑managed, and aligned with institutional standards. The postholder also contributes to event coordination, compliance, and continuous improvement, fostering a positive and professional campus environment.
Key Responsibilities
Campus Operations & Administration
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations, administration, and support services at the Leeds campus.
- Supervise campus teams including Operations, Reception, Customer Service, and Events/Outreach.
- Ensure efficient management of correspondence, procurement, and resource allocation.
- Liaise with central Procurement, Finance, HR, and IT teams for smooth operations.
- Implement college policies and support senior leadership in executing local strategies aligned with institutional goals.
Facilities, Health & Safety
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and promote safeguarding and wellbeing across campus.
- Manage campus security, access, and coordination with external providers.
- Ensure facilities are maintained, safe, and compliant with Health & Safety, fire, and risk regulations.
- Report and resolve maintenance issues, conducting regular audits to ensure standards and compliance.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with OfS, GDPR, safeguarding, and internal quality standards.
Maintain accurate records and reports for audits and inspections.
Work with Quality Assurance and Academic teams to ensure readiness for reviews and policy alignment.
Member of the campus Senior Management Team.
Line‑manage operational, reception, events, and customer service staff.
Oversee attendance, absence reporting, and staff development.
Support recruitment, induction, and team engagement initiatives.
Build strong relationships with external education partners to support recruitment and enrolment goals.
Plan and deliver student inductions, workshops, and campus events.
Coordinate promotional and outreach activities with internal teams and external partners.
Manage student feedback and complaints at campus level.
Oversee applicant and student‑facing events to ensure an excellent candidate experience.
Produce campus operational reports and performance summaries for senior management.
Manage operational budgets and ensure value for money.
Contribute to policy development, process improvements, and quality initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in campus operations, administration, or facilities management (preferably in higher education).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, safeguarding, and compliance within educational settings.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Educated to degree level.
- Experience working within higher or further education.
- Understanding of OfS and compliance frameworks.
- First Aid, Fire Safety, and Adult Safeguarding training.
- Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) or similar qualification.
