Role Overview

As a Cyber Security Intern at Willhire, you will work with our security and IT teams to gain hands-on experience in protecting systems, networks, and applications from cyber threats. This internship is ideal for beginners looking to build strong foundational skills in cybersecurity practices, threat analysis, compliance, and risk management. No prior professional experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

Learn and assist in identifying security vulnerabilities across networks, systems, and applications.

Support basic security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing activities.

Monitor security alerts and assist with investigating potential incidents.

Help implement security best practices and policies to protect digital assets.

Gain exposure to SIEM tools and security monitoring platforms.

Assist with creating incident response documentation and security reports.

Support compliance efforts and basic risk assessments aligned with industry standards.

Learn about network security concepts, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and access control.

Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed a B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/MSc in Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security, Information Systems, or a related field.

Basic understanding of computer networking fundamentals.

Familiarity with operating systems such as Linux or Windows.

Interest in cybersecurity concepts, threat detection, and system protection.

Strong analytical mindset, curiosity, and attention to detail.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have (Bonus Skills)

Basic knowledge of networking tools or platforms.

Exposure to vulnerability scanning or penetration testing tools.

Introductory experience with scripting (Python or Bash).
