Willerby - it’s our name and is a core component of who we are. We’re so proud of our legacy and to have grown from manufacturing in a tiny village nearby to our sprawling 90-acre site in Hull today. Our goal has always been and always will be dedication to detail and creating a quality product.

With over 75 years experience, Willerby has been the UK’s largest manufacturer of holiday homes and lodges. We love designing practical and beautiful homes for parks not only in the UK but also across the world.

We’re looking for a Material Planner who will ensure all material requirements are managed effectively to support our manufacturing needs.

A little more about the role:

  • Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager in this integral role, you will develop and execute the material ordering and delivery strategy for a specific supply chain.
  • You will be accountable for the delivery of materials against agreed supplier schedules and create professional working relationships with a range of stakeholders in the supply chain.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensure all material schedules via various order types are issued to the supply chain within the supplier agreed cut off lead times.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure materials are delivered against the agreed schedules.
  • Coordinate flow of material within the manufacturing facility, controlling the release of material accordingly.
  • Review and communicate any known material shortages to production planning at the earliest convenience to allow for contingency arrangements to be made where possible.
  • Look at ways to offer alternative options to known material shortages.
  • Report the weekly and monthly supplier performance information to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor material inventory for the business and generate long term material forecasts for suppliers on varying lead time delivery needs.
  • Participate in root cause analysis where supply may be impacted, assisting with helping to improve performance to the agreed standard.
  • Arrange for non-conforming parts to be returned to the suppliers in a timely manner, managing stock adjustments as required.
  • Issue any NCR/PIR requests when needed, using the PLM system.

About You:

  • You will already have experience from a previous material planning role, ideally from a fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • You’ll also have a high level of IT literacy and have experience of utilising ERP/MRP systems.
  • Given the nature of the role, you will need to have effective communication skills and be able to engage with a range of stakeholders to drive process improvement.

What Willerby can offer you:

  • You can expect a competitive salary, life assurance, the equivalent 25 days annual leave in addition to public holidays, service days and holiday purchase scheme and a 6% employer contribution pension.
  • You’ll also get the option to join a Private Health Scheme.
  • We work a 4 day compressed week (Monday - Thursday).
