We are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer, to lead and support quality assurance and continuous improvement activities across our manufacturing operations. The role will drive defect reduction, root cause analysis, process improvement, supplier quality assurance, and compliance with industry standards to ensure products meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure manufactured holiday homes meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Develop, implement and maintain quality control plans and inspection standards.
- Monitor in-process and final inspection activities across production lines.
- Support production lines with quality planning and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Lead investigations into non-conformances, customer complaints and internal defects.
- Apply structured problem-solving techniques.
- Identify trends in defect data and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework and warranty claims.
- Support continuous improvement projects.
- Analyse quality performance metrics (KPIs such as defect rates, rework, customer returns).
- Produce reports for management highlighting trends, risks and improvement actions.
- Maintain accurate quality documentation and records.
- Work with Production, Engineering, Design and Customer Service teams.
- Provide quality input during design reviews and process changes.
- Support training of production staff on quality standards and best practices.
- Experience in a Quality Engineering or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies & techniques such as FMEA, SPC/Capability Studies, Total Quality/Kaizen Tools, PFMEA, Gauge R&R, Poke Yoke, RCA.
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Good analytical skills with ability to interpret quality data.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel/Google sheets.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the business.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
- Be proactive and solutions focused with a strong problem-solving mindset and be driven to improve processes.
- Resilient and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Thorough understanding of current BS EN ISO 9001 specification requirements.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies & techniques such as FMEA, SPC/Capability Studies, Total Quality/Kaizen Tools, PFMEA, Gauge R&R, Poke Yoke, RCA.
- Quality qualifications such as Level 3/4 Quality Engineering.
