This is a new role reporting to the Head of HSE, supporting with the day-to-day coordination and activities of the department and working closely with site teams to identify and implement solutions. This role is an ideal opportunity to develop your career within the Health, Safety & Environmental area by gaining hands-on experience deputising for the Head of HSE, developing both technical and leadership skills.
What will you be doing?
- Drive Health, Safety and Environmental improvements – support the implementation of HSE and Environmental policies and ISO requirements.
- Lead proactive risk reduction – identify and reduce site risks through risk profiling and accident investigations, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders – work closely with the Head of HSE, regulatory authorities, insurers and site teams to maintain compliance and improve safety culture.
- Make a lasting impact on site safety – deliver HSE training, conduct audits, and support employee engagement to drive a positive behavioural shift in safety and sustainability.
About You
You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all employee levels with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You will be computer literate with a proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). You will possess strong problem-solving skills, along with a proactive approach. You will hold a Full UK Driving Licence. Ideally, you will have had previous experience of working within the HSE field and will hold NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety and IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
