Job Summary
We’re looking for an energetic, people-focused fundraiser to join Willen Hospice as a Community & Events Executive. Working across our Community, Events and Challenges fundraising portfolio, you’ll help deliver outstanding supporter experiences and play a key role in bringing our fundraising activities to life.
You’ll nurture relationships with supporters, community groups, schools and volunteers, support the planning and delivery of Hospice-led events and challenges, and act as a confident ambassador for Willen Hospice across Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.
If you’re organised, personable and enjoy variety – from cheque collections and community talks to event-day delivery – this could be the perfect next step in your fundraising career.
What you’ll do:
- Contribute to the delivery of community, events and challenge fundraising activities in line with the operating plan and priorities set by Leads.
- Support the planning and delivery of Hospice-led fundraising events, challenge activities and community fundraising initiatives.
- Provide high-quality, timely and personalised stewardship to supporters, participants, volunteers and community contacts.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with community groups, schools, local organisations and volunteers.
- Deliver or support community presentations, engagement sessions and cheque collections when required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date supporter records on the CRM system, ensuring high data quality and compliance.
- Contribute to risk assessments, event plans, supplier coordination and volunteer briefings to ensure well-managed delivery.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- A confident communicator, able to build warm, professional relationships with supporters, community groups, volunteers and event participants.
- Comfortable representing the Hospice at events, community engagements, presentations and cheque collections.
- Comfortable handling materials, signage, kit or equipment during event set up and breakdown
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and competing priorities across events, community and challenge activity.
- A confident IT user with good digital literacy across email, Microsoft Office, CRM systems and online tools.
- A full, valid UK driving licence and aged 25 or over, in line with our insurance requirements, as this role involves regular travel across Milton Keynes and surrounding areas.
Experience of working or volunteering in a charity, fundraising or events environment is desirable but not essential – just as important is your enthusiasm, adaptability and genuine enjoyment of working with people.
