About the role

Are you a friendly, organised, and hardworking individual? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, helping others, and supporting a great cause? We are looking for a Community & Events Fundraiser to join our passionate team at Willen Hospice.

In this role, you’ll be joining a friendly team to generate vital income through professional community stewardship and organising fundraising events and activity in a role where no two days are the same! You’ll support the local community, our supporters and volunteers, nurturing relationships and working with key partners and stakeholders to maximise income generation opportunities, attending Hospice run and community organised events.

What you’ll do

Support Daily Operations: work with the Community and Events Fundraising Manager and Senior Fundraisers in delivering effective events and community fundraising programme

Donor Engagement: ensuring all donors have a positive experience when engaging with the hospice to raise vital income for the Hospice.

Contribute New Ideas: help grow fundraising and events income, keeping abreast of wider charity sector and fundraising trends.

Support The Delivery: run a high-quality annual programme of fundraising and supporter engagement events ensuring all donors have a positive experience when engaging with the hospice to raise vital income for the Hospice.

Respond Effectively: answer fundraising enquiries from the public, volunteers, ambassadors, patrons, and trustees providing high quality supporter stewardship.

Liaise: with the wider Fundraising and Business Development team to help recognise opportunities for new income and ensure relevant fundraising resources are maintained.

Attend events: deliver inspiring talks and presentations to a diverse community base and collecting donations where required.

What you’ll need:

  • To be a flexible team player with previous fundraising experience, ideally within a community setting.
  • To be available to work Thursdays and Fridays plus some evenings and weekends as required
  • A good organiser, have excellent customer service skills and an outgoing, friendly personality with a passion for fun and success.
  • To be physically fit and able to safely move and handle event equipment, some of which is heavy
  • A driving licence (category B+E), access to a vehicle and be over 25 (an insurance requirement to drive the Hospice van)
