We’re supporting our client, a global, leading manufacturer based in Stourbridge, who are looking for a Pipe Stress Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Pipe Stress Engineer will have previous experience in piping stress analysis, as well as proven ability to perform static and dynamic analysis using industry standard software.

Responsibilities for Pipe Stress Engineer:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in piping stress analysis
  • Proven ability to perform static and dynamic analysis using industry-standard software (CAESAR II)
  • Experience with designing and specifying pipe supports & spring hangers using CAESAR II
  • Experience with modelling Expansion Joints and Pump Connectors using CAESAR II
  • Excellent understanding of relevant piping codes and standards (e.g. ASME B31.3)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn pipework expansion design using expansion bellows, anchors and guides where natural flexibility is not possible.
  • Experience in pipe stress analysis related to process and utilities pipelines.
  • Be familiar with general piping/pipeline design engineering such as material specifications, hydro-test and development of plant piping and layouts.

About You:

  • Perform piping flexibility analysis for various industries.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, relevant codes and good manufacturing practices.
  • Prepare and maintain stress analysis reports.
  • Design Expansion joints, anchors and guides into pipework systems where applicable and produce reports showing system forces.
  • Advise on the installation of expansion joints, anchors and guides.
  • Work directly with customers to offer bespoke engineering designs that provide a justifiable and costed pipework flexibility solution.
  • Perform project and design risk management
  • Establish and maintain relationships with contractors, consultants and suppliers.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation on companies CRM system
  • Where applicable and required meet with customers to discuss project requirements both at pre and post installation stage.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of the project are delivered on-time, within scope and budget.
  • Manage changes to project requirement using appropriate company processes.
  • To process customers’ orders and enquiries in accordance with the companies’ systems and procedures where applicable.
