As a Tool Designer, you will be responsible for the design and development of mould tools ranging from 0.5t to 3.5t, working with a variety of materials and technologies. The role involves both new design and redesign work, as well as troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Design mould tools using SolidWorks and VISI CAD
  • Work with materials including Ali, P20, and H13 steels
  • Develop unscrewing, complex, and standard mould tooling
  • Conduct Moldflow analysis and DFM (Design for Manufacture)
  • Produce DFM reports for customers and internal use
  • Troubleshoot tooling and resolve design/manufacturing issues
  • Carry out CAD modelling, redesign, and optimisation work

About You

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in mould tool design
  • Strong engineering and polymer knowledge
  • Proven experience with CAD design and modelling
  • Experience working with complex moulds
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectively
  • 3D printing experience is desirable
  • Tool costing experience is desirable
