We’re supporting our client, a leading global business based in Coventry, who are looking for an Applications Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Applications Engineer will have high level expertise in CNC programming and the ability to interpret technical drawings and effectively use CNC machining systems.
Responsibilities for Applications Engineer:
- Providing technical support on equipment including specification, practical demonstrations of technology, training, and site programming/optimisation to fulfil both customer and internal requirements.
- Support all internal teams and customers during pre and post sales, keeping them constantly updated on all the new products, features, and capabilities.
- Support the sales team on the generation of machine configurations, solutions/concepts and quotations.
- Professionally support products during shows and exhibitions (i.e. Open Houses) giving all the needed support during the preparation and execution of events.
- You will report to the Head of Technical for overall performance, and at times will be required to travel within the UK and abroad.
- Any other related duties as required by the Head of Technical.
About You:
- Time served apprenticeship or similar qualification.
- High level expertise in CNC programming and the ability to interpret technical drawings and effectively use CNC machining centres.
- Experience with NC programming, 5 axis milling and CAM systems.
- Good knowledge of latest machining techniques and tooling solutions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of engineering principles, practices and methods, environmental regulations, workplace safety and employee/contractor supervision.
- Good problem analysis, resolution and documentation skills.
- Be honest, flexible and trustworthy with a high-quality work ethic.
- Be punctual and respectful.
- Knowledge of FANUC controls.
- Custom Macro B Programming.
- Experience with PMC.
