About Will It Make The Boat Go Faster? Will It Make The Boat Go Faster? is a people performance and leadership consultancy founded by Olympic Gold Medallist Ben Hunt-Davis and Tom Barry in 2012. We help ambitious leaders achieve the clarity, alignment and mindset shift needed to drive lasting performance transformation. Our core programmes - Crazy Goal, High-Performing Teams and Leadership Performance - are used by organisations including Primark, Sage, Bayer, Henkel and the NHS. We’re really proud of the friendly, supportive and collaborative culture we have created and are driven to provide world class support for our clients to help them achieve their own gold medals.

Our work is built around a single question: 'Will it make the boat go faster?' - the question Ben's crew used to filter every decision on their journey from 7th in the world to Olympic Gold in Sydney 2000. We are a small, ambitious team on a clear growth journey. Marketing sits at the heart of that ambition - and this role is central to getting us there.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a marketing team whose impact is growing fast and playing an increasingly important part in the commercial success of the business. We are looking for a capable, creative marketer who can help accelerate the impact of our sales and marketing activity - executing on our plan, raising the bar on how we show up to the market, and supporting the team to attract, delight and convert the senior leaders we most want to work with.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Brand and creative: Owning the visual identity of Will It? across all marketing materials - proposals, slide decks, event collateral, social assets and templates. Iterating and co-creating proposal materials with the sales team, listening to what clients and prospects need and reflecting that back compellingly on the page. Supporting the evolution of our proposal approach - including the potential move to AI-enabled tools such as Gamma. Managing relationships with external stakeholders including videographers, creative agencies, venue and event managers - ensuring we get great outcomes on time and within budget.
  • Content and social: Designing social media assets, infographics and LinkedIn graphics that support our thought leadership and outreach activity. Producing video content - editing highlights from keynotes, webinars and events for social media and YouTube. Turning delivery team write-ups into polished, client-facing case studies for the website and proposals. Supporting the production and design of our monthly newsletter. Assisting with content/asset creation and coordination.
  • Events & Webinars: Playing a key role in supporting the delivery of our annual conference, quarterly webinars and client events. This could range from producing marketing materials and communications, organising contact lists to being hands-on in making the event/webinar a success on the day. Working with the Head of Marketing on the creative and thematic direction of our events, and with the Growth Marketing Manager on outreach and follow-up activity to maximise commercial impact.
  • Website and digital: Managing the day-to-day running of the Will It? website - uploading content, updating pages and maintaining a consistent brand experience (WordPress/Elementor). Increasing Will It?’s visibility online – through effective SEO, GEO, AEO, content creation to increase traffic to our website, events and webinars. Familiarity with tools like SEMrush is desirable. Contributing to the future evolution and redevelopment of the company website, including collaboration with agency partners and internal stakeholders. Supporting the management of our CRM (HubSpot) - managing data lists, reporting on campaign performance, and helping the team keep our pipeline activity organised and up to date. Supporting the execution and optimisation of paid advertising campaigns across Google Ads and LinkedIn.

The Person: Skills

  • 2-3 years of marketing experience. We are open on professional background – your background could be agency-side, in-house, or a mix of both - what matters is that you have a track record of delivering quality marketing work and are ready to take real ownership.
  • Experience on creative projects - a strong design eye, confident in Canva, PowerPoint and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Bringing structure and organisation to how marketing projects get planned and delivered - managing multiple workstreams at once, keeping stakeholders informed, and ensuring we consistently deliver on time and to a high standard.
  • Comfortable owning and managing a website day-to-day.
  • Video editing capability - basic to intermediate, sufficient for social-first content.

The Person: Behaviours

  • Commercially curious - you want to understand how your work connects to the wider goals of the business, not just how it looks.
  • Strong stakeholder management - confident working with and, where needed, pushing back on senior internal stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and proactive - you take ownership of your areas and see things through without needing to be chased.
  • A strong executer who thrives on variety and is comfortable switching between strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.
  • Comfortable in a small, high-trust, high-support, high-challenge environment where everybody looks out for each other.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with HubSpot.
  • AI fluency: active use of tools such as Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Canva AI, Descript or similar to accelerate creative output - someone who uses AI as a genuine multiplier, not an occasional shortcut.
  • Experience producing proposals or pitch materials in a consultancy or agency context.
  • B2B marketing experience - professional services or consultancy is a genuine advantage.
  • SEO/GEO/AEO awareness and/or experience with tools like SEMrush.
  • Copywriting ability - the capacity to draft LinkedIn content, short articles or newsletter copy as well as design around them.
  • An interest in sport, high performance or leadership development.

The Rewards:

  • Salary of £32,000-£36,000 dependent on experience.
  • Up to 15% annual bonus based on personal and company performance, plus a pension scheme with 4% employer contribution.
  • 25 days holiday (increasing by 1 day per year up to 28), plus your birthday off.
  • Flexible, hybrid working - London-based 2 days a week. It is all about results, not where you sit.
  • Early finish on Fridays.
  • Strong career development in a growing business with a clear ambition and a plan to get there.
  • A powerful brand, a compelling story, and work that genuinely matters to the people and organisations you serve.
