Position Profile
The successful individual will play a key role in providing accurate financial reporting and fund accounting services to a diverse portfolio of private equity and alternative investment funds. The successful candidate will work closely with fund managers and investors, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and investor reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant seeking to develop their career within private equity, gaining exposure to complex fund structures and investment strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly management accounts and financial forecasts, maintaining direct client engagement
- Assist with investor capital calls, drawdowns, and distributions, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Produce statutory accounts for various private equity fund structures, including limited partnerships and special purpose vehicles
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT returns and adherence to regulatory requirements
- Review bank reconciliations, expense reports, and payment authorisations prepared by junior accountants
- Collaborate with auditors and tax advisors to support the completion of annual accounts and filings
- Provide insights and financial analysis to clients, ensuring strong governance and best practices are maintained
- Contribute to the improvement of internal systems, processes, and documentation to enhance operational efficiency
Person Profile
- Recently qualified or 2-3 years post-qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Strong understanding of or interest in private equity fund accounting
- Experience of management accounting and/or financial reporting
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Confident in engaging with clients and senior stakeholders
- Familiarity with financial software such as Microsoft 365, Xero and other similar systems
Benefits
- £45,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
