Position Profile
The Group Financial Accountant role offers a broad blend of project and business-as-usual responsibilities. You will support the monthly group reporting cycle while playing a key role in the year-end process, audit management, and internal control development. You’ll also contribute to initiatives such as IFRS implementation, control reviews, and process improvements. Reporting to a Financial Reporting Manager, the position sits within a high-calibre finance team and will involve collaboration across functions and geographies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly group reporting and annual consolidated financial statements
- Support the delivery of standalone financial statements under IFRS and FRS 101
- Prepare key accounting calculations and journal entries, with supporting analysis and disclosures
- Liaise with finance and operational stakeholders across the group to address reporting and control issues
- Contribute to financial control enhancement, including the development and documentation of internal controls
- Take ownership of aspects of the annual external audit, including notes and subsidiary submissions
- Monitor developments in accounting standards and assess their impact on group reporting
- Participate in wider projects across the finance function, from governance to trading activity and systems optimisation
- Support team development, promote a positive team culture, and help uphold work-life balance within the group
Person Profile
Recently qualified or finalist-level chartered accountant (CA/ACA/ACCA). Big Four or Mid-Tier trained CAs will be strongly considered. Experience preparing or auditing group and standalone financial statements. Working knowledge of IFRS and FRS 101 (IFRS9 and IFRS15 knowledge is highly sought after). Strong understanding of internal controls and standard financial reporting cycles. A collaborative and motivated team player with strong communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail. Industry experience is advantageous but not essential. An interest in contributing to projects and process improvements within a group finance function.
