Are you an experienced Finance Business Partner who thrives on influencing senior stakeholders, leading teams and shaping strategic decision making? Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with a large, complex organisation to appoint a Senior Finance Business Partner / Lead Finance Business Partner. This is a rare opportunity to join an organisation undergoing significant transformation, where finance plays a pivotal role in driving long‑term strategy and supporting major investment programmes.

This is far more than a reporting role. You'll be a trusted commercial partner, helping senior leaders navigate complex decisions, influence change and deliver sustainable financial performance.

The Opportunity

Working closely with senior leadership, you'll lead the finance partnering function for one of the organisation's largest and most strategically important business areas, overseeing financial activity across a substantial budget and supporting ambitious investment and transformation plans.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading the financial strategy for a major operational area with responsibility for significant budgets.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing commercial insight and constructive challenge.
  • Supporting strategic planning, investment appraisal and long‑term financial decision making.
  • Leading, coaching and developing a high‑performing Finance Business Partnering team.
  • Driving budgeting, forecasting and financial performance across a complex operational environment.
  • Developing robust financial models to support major investment and transformation initiatives.
  • Presenting financial insight and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives across the wider finance function.
  • Supporting organisational change by translating complex financial information into clear, meaningful insight for non‑finance stakeholders.

About You

We're looking for an experienced finance leader who combines strong technical capability with exceptional communication and influencing skills. You’ll ideally bring:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Significant Finance Business Partnering experience within a large, complex organisation.
  • Proven experience leading, developing and motivating finance teams.
  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to influence strategic decision making.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging and challenging senior leaders.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, transformation or business improvement programmes.
  • Advanced financial planning, modelling, budgeting and forecasting expertise.
  • The ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear, engaging and practical way.
  • Experience gained within large, matrix organisations across either the public or private sector will be considered.
