W&A is working with a globally recognised manufacturing organisation to appoint a Finance Assistant on a 12–15 month fixed‑term contract. Based in Livingston, this role is predominantly office‑based and offers the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience across a broad range of finance activities within a high‑performing team.

The Opportunity

This is a varied and fast‑paced role supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the finance function. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role across credit control, accounts payable, and general finance administration, contributing to the smooth running of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the production and distribution of monthly customer statements
  • Contacting customers regarding overdue balances and resolving queries
  • Maintaining debtor reports and tracking outstanding balances
  • Allocating incoming funds and updating customer accounts
  • Processing and matching supplier invoices accurately
  • Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies
  • Processing employee expenses in line with company policy
  • Assisting with routine reporting and finance administration
  • Supporting the year‑end audit process

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts administration role
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable and/or credit control
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; SAP experience advantageous
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
  • Team‑oriented with a proactive and flexible approach
  • Experience in a manufacturing or operational environment beneficial
