I'm pleased to be supporting a growing organisation to recruit a temporary Accounts Assistant to support with a busy function within the accounts team. This is an ongoing temporary role with the potential to go permanent for the right person. We are looking for someone to start right away, and so you must be immediately available to apply.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger and sales ledger. This will be to ensure the smooth running of the overall transactional process, as well as clear through any existing backlog. This is a terrific opportunity to apply your skillset to a busy, productive function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process a high volume of purchase and sales ledger transactions.
- Clear any backlog of supplier and customer invoices, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Reconcile supplier and customer accounts, investigating and resolving outstanding items.
- Allocate incoming payments and resolve misallocations or invoice queries.
- Support credit control activity to reduce aged debt where required.
- Perform regular bank and cash reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure ledgers are fully up to date.
