Financial Reporting & Controls Lead

W&A is partnering with a well-established organisation to recruit a Financial Reporting & Controls Lead. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead financial reporting, compliance, and control processes in a complex and evolving environment.

This role is based in Edinburgh and will operate on a hybrid basis.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
2. Manage external audit processes and act as the primary point of contact for auditors.
3. Lead the month-end and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
4. Develop and enhance financial controls, ensuring strong governance across the organization.
5. Oversee cash flow forecasting, treasury functions, and risk management strategies.
6. Provide technical accounting advice and support to senior leadership.
7. Manage and develop a finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.

About You:

1. Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
2. Strong technical accounting expertise, particularly in financial reporting and compliance.
3. Experience in managing external audits and liaising with auditors.
4. Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing and mentoring teams.
5. Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive financial process improvements.
