W&A is proud to be partnering with The Boys’ Brigade to appoint a Finance Manager who will play an important role in supporting the organisation’s long-standing mission to empower children and young people to live “life to the full”.

The Opportunity
This is a leadership opportunity within a respected charity, reporting to the Chief Executive and supporting the Trustees and Finance Committee. The Finance Manager will have responsibility for managing the organisation’s financial function – a varied and hands-on role where you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including monthly reconciliation and producing regular management accounts.
You’ll also review and modernise processes, shape the five-year financial strategy, and provide clear, insightful reporting that enables sound decision-making.
This permanent, full-time role is based in Larbert with hybrid working (3 days onsite).
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial management, accounting, and reporting.
- Support the Chief Executive with annual budgets and five-year strategy planning.
- Produce management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and project funding reports.
- Prepare annual accounts and manage the independent audit process.
- Oversee payroll, pensions, and the finance function’s daily operations.
- Monitor restricted and designated funds, ensuring compliance with SORP.
- Liaise with auditors, banks, investment managers, and key suppliers.
- Provide financial governance support, servicing the Finance Committee.
- Oversight of the outsourced supplies function.
What You’ll Bring
- Accounting qualification or significant equivalent experience.
- Skilled in financial management, reporting, and analysis.
- Experience in charity finance and SORP compliance (desirable).
- Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and management reports.
- Excellent Excel and IT skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with diverse stakeholders.
