W&A is supporting an ambitious and expanding business as they appoint an Accounts Senior. Based in Edinburgh, this is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day finance activities while supporting a growing business through its next phase of development.
The Opportunity
This is far more than a traditional accounts role. You'll become a trusted member of a small, collaborative team, taking responsibility for the smooth running of the finance function while supporting cash-flow, reporting, and wider business operations. Working closely with senior leadership and external accountants, you'll ensure financial information is accurate, organised, and delivered on time, providing the foundations for effective decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping, including sales and purchase ledgers, reconciliations, expenses, and payments
- Preparing accurate financial information to support monthly reporting and management accounts
- Monitoring cash-flow, customer payments, and supplier commitments
- Supporting project and business performance reporting
- Assisting with finance-related administration, compliance, and process improvement initiatives
About You
- Previous experience in Accounts Senior, Senior Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeping, or similar finance role
- Strong attention to detail and a highly organised approach
- Experience using Xero or comparable accounting software
- Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities
- Enjoys being part of a fast-paced SME environment where no two days are the same
