This is a senior finance leadership opportunity within a fast-growing UK-based SaaS business operating at the intersection of healthcare, data and innovation. As the organisation enters its next phase of strategic growth, it is seeking an experienced Finance Director to join the executive leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping long-term performance and sustainability. The role is remote-first, with periodic in-person meetings in Scotland’s central belt.
The Opportunity
As Finance Director, you will take full ownership of the company’s financial strategy and operations, acting as a trusted partner to the Board and senior leadership team. You will provide commercial insight to support decision-making, ensure robust financial governance, and help scale the finance function in line with ambitious growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the financial strategy to support growth, profitability and long-term sustainability
- Provide financial insight and analysis to inform strategic planning, investment decisions and product development
- Act as a key financial partner to the Board, advising on performance, risk and strategic direction
- Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, management accounting, cashflow and statutory reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly Board reporting and annual statutory accounts
- Lead the annual audit process and manage relationships with auditors, banks and external advisors
- Maintain compliance with HMRC, Companies House and relevant accounting standards
- Support pricing strategy and commercial negotiations, assessing profitability and working capital impact
- Build, develop and scale the finance function, systems and controls as the business grows
- Oversee outsourced payroll and manage cashflow forecasting, investor and lender relationships
What You’ll Bring
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within a growth or scale-up environment
- A hands-on leadership style, comfortable operating strategically and operationally
- Strong track record in financial planning, reporting, governance and control
- Experience creating, embedding and improving finance processes and systems
- Commercial acumen with the ability to support negotiations and business decisions
- Exposure to international operations or overseas subsidiaries would be advantageous
- Excellent Board-level communication and stakeholder management skills
