Based in Edinburgh, this opportunity offers the chance to work closely with Finance, Sales and Marketing teams, providing valuable analysis and commercial support across trade spend, promotions and business performance.
The Opportunity
This is a varied and commercially focused finance role that sits at the heart of the organisation’s customer and trade investment processes. You will take ownership of trade management administration, support forecasting activities, provide performance analysis, and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business. The role offers excellent exposure to commercial decision-making and would suit an ambitious finance professional looking to further develop their career within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily processing and control of trade promotion offers and customer claims.
- Ensure trade agreements and promotional activity are accurately set up and maintained.
- Provide insight and analysis on volume, gross margin performance and trade spend.
- Support monthly trade spend reviews with key stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Monitor Sales and Marketing overheads and deliver accurate month-end reporting.
- Assist with forecasting activities across customers and product categories.
- Support budget tracking and financial performance reporting.
- Reconcile trade spend balance sheets and maintain robust financial controls.
- Build strong relationships across Finance, Sales, Marketing and Demand Planning teams.
Candidate Profile
- Experience within commercial finance or a similar analytical finance role.
- Part-qualified accountant or qualified by experience.
- Experience working in FMCG, manufacturing or a similar sector is highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret complex data (ESSENTIAL).
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
