W&A is delighted to be partnering with a market-leading manufacturing business to recruit a Management Accountant to join their Finance team for a maternity leave cover. This is an exciting opportunity to support the company's continued growth and make a real impact across the organisation.

This role can be based either in their West Lothian branch, or their South Fife one and is 100% on site.

The Role:

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely management information, supporting decision-making, and driving continuous process improvement. This is an ideal role for a hands-on finance professional looking to take ownership of month-end reporting and partner closely with both Finance and wider business teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and first drafts of reporting packs for senior leadership
  • Maintain and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating variances and anomalies
  • Post journals for accruals, prepayments, allocations, and intercompany transactions
  • Support the year-end audit process and help prepare the annual budget
  • Own the fixed asset register, ensuring all additions, disposals, and reconciliations are up to date
  • Reconcile fuel usage, company car expenses, credit insurance premiums, and sales rebates
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders to provide insight, analysis, and support
  • Suggest improvements and automation opportunities for existing finance processes
  • Assist with ad-hoc analysis and project work as required

About You:

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, or similar)
  • Proven experience working at Management Accountant level in a busy, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong Excel and financial reporting system skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commercial mindset
  • A proactive, solution-orientated team player who can liaise confidently with all areas of the business
  • Organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
