W&A are delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with a Global manufacturing business based in West Lothian as they look to appoint a Cost Controller. Livingston is one of the flagship sites within Europe and due to an internal promotion there is an opportunity for a Cost Controller to join the business.

The role will play a critical part in analysing cost structures, providing insights, and supporting financial decision-making processes. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and report on budget variances and financial performance.
  • Analyse cost data and prepare detailed reports to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Stores and Logistics and our Buyers to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Provide cost analysis for new projects and initiatives.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Inventory management - support our Stores team with the cycle count program and help investigate any variances.
Background/Experience
  • Qualified Accountant or Qualified By Experience.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing, Engineering or Construction environment.
  • Experience of Cost Accounting/Cost Analysis (Desirable).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
