We are supporting a well-established manufacturing business in Glenrothes with the appointment of an Interim Management Accountant to provide immediate cover and hands-on support to the Financial Controller. This is a practical, delivery-focused interim role suited to someone who can step in quickly, take ownership of month-end, and provide clear financial insight to the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
- Month End Reporting
- Take ownership of the monthly management accounts, including timely close, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Deliver clear variance analysis against budget and forecast, highlighting risks and opportunities
- Produce accurate and concise management reporting for senior stakeholders
- Business Partnering Support
- Provide day-to-day financial support to operational and non-finance managers
- Act as a trusted sounding board for the Financial Controller during the interim period
- Support ad hoc analysis, reporting requests and audit queries as required
- Controls Performance
- Maintain balance sheet integrity and ensure key controls are adhered to
- Monitor costs and support performance tracking across the business
- Assist with KPI reporting and operational performance insight
- Systems Process
- Work confidently within existing ERP and reporting systems
- Identify quick-win process or reporting improvements where appropriate
- Support continuity within the finance function during the interim period
Skills Experience Required
- Qualified accountant
- Strong, recent experience in a hands-on management accounting role
- Confident running month-end with minimal supervision
- Strong Excel skills and ability to work quickly with existing models and reports
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, on-site environment
- Proactive, practical and delivery-focused mindset
Reporting Line
- Reporting directly to the Financial Controller
- Working closely with operational and senior management teams
