Financial Accountant (12 month FTC) in Glasgow

The Opportunity

A fantastic 12-month fixed term contract opportunity has arisen for a technically strong Financial Accountant to join a well-established organisation based in Glasgow. You\’ll be responsible for maintaining control of the general ledger, preparing statutory accounts, reviewing journals, and assisting with year-end processes. The position also provides scope to lead on specific technical areas such as IFRS 16 lease accounting and corporation tax analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of statutory accounts and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Posting, reviewing, and controlling general ledger entries.
• Coordinating year‑end and audit processes, supporting internal and external auditors.
• Assisting with lease accounting (IFRS 16) and corporation tax analysis.
• Enhancing financial control processes and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

What You\’ll Bring

• Fully qualified accountant (ICAS, ACCA, or CIMA).
• Proven experience in audit and/or financial accounting.
• Strong technical understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyse and interpret data effectively.
• A proactive, detail‑driven approach with strong communication skills.

Package & Benefits

• Salary £50,000‑£52,000 per annum.
