An opportunity to play a pivotal role in an international finance function, supporting overseas operations and ensuring robust, compliant financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Edinburgh, offering the chance to work within a collaborative international accounting team. You will partner closely with overseas finance teams to ensure the firm-wide accounting system accurately reflects local transactions, supporting both management reporting and UK statutory financial statements.
The Opportunity
You will contribute to the accuracy, consistency and integrity of international financial reporting, supporting overseas offices with accounting, audits and regulatory requirements while helping to embed best-practice processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Support overseas offices with the preparation of year-end accounts and audit working papers
- Manage year-end audits and preparation of financial statements for international and CEE entities
- Provide day-to-day accounting support to overseas finance teams
- Complete month-end close processes for multiple international offices
- Reconcile international and CEE accounts to the central accounting system on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Investigate and explain variances between local and central records
- Review balance sheets and PL accounts, identifying and resolving unusual or incorrect balances
- Calculate and post loan interest to local ledgers
- Maintain and action a running log of accounting issues in collaboration with local teams
- Respond to ad hoc financial queries through data gathering and analysis
What You'll Bring
- A minimum of 3 years finance experience with a relevant professional qualification (CA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) newly or recently qualified is preferred
- A background in audit or business advisory from an accountancy practice (is preferred but not essential)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including FRS102 is essential
- Advanced MS Excel skills with confident use of Word and other Office tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical capability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and meet tight deadlines
- A proactive, self-motivated approach to learning and continuous improvement
- High standards of personal and professional integrity
