We are supporting a financial services organisation undergoing a period of significant change and are seeking a confident, commercially minded finance professional to join on an initial contract basis, with the potential for a permanent role thereafter. This role sits within the FP&A and Management Reporting function and will play a key part in supporting the business through a busy period of transformation, including a new budgeting cycle, ledger change, company structure changes and the implementation of new planning tools.
The Role
Reporting into a senior finance leader within FP&A, this role will provide hands-on support across management reporting, financial analysis and stakeholder interaction. It is a broad role requiring a blend of data processing, reporting accuracy, insight generation and commercial thinking. Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing and enhancing management reporting packs, ensuring accuracy, clarity and insight
- Financial analysis to support business performance, decision-making and forecasting
- Supporting budget and forecast cycles alongside regional and central FP&A teams
- Acting as a key interface across finance teams, including FP&A, reporting and forecasting functions
- Contributing to process improvements during periods of system and structural change (including planning tool implementation)
- Supporting and potentially line-managing an offshore finance team over time
- Responding to ad-hoc financial queries from senior stakeholders, including lender and investor-related questions
This is not a pure business partnering role; the successful individual will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and balancing reporting, analysis and insight delivery.
The Person
We are looking for a confident, delivery-focused finance professional who can operate effectively in a fast-moving environment. You will ideally have:
- A recognised accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in FP&A, management reporting or commercial finance
- Financial services experience is desirable but not essential
- Strong analytical capability combined with clear communication skills
- Confidence interfacing with stakeholders across finance and the wider business
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
- Availability to start quickly on a contract basis, with openness to permanent opportunities
Cultural fit is important; this role would suit someone adaptable, collaborative and comfortable navigating change.
Why Apply?
- Opportunity to join during a critical and interesting period of transformation
- Broad, visible role with exposure to senior finance stakeholders
- Initial contract with genuine temp-to-perm potential
- Hybrid working with regular Edinburgh office presence
