Based in Edinburgh, this is a permanent, full-time role working closely with the Finance Director on a varied portfolio of high-profile projects and joint ventures.
This position blends technical accounting responsibility with commercial, project-focused exposure. Supporting the Finance Director, you’ll help manage all financial aspects of a growing development portfolio - from management reporting and cashflow planning to joint venture oversight and investment analysis. It’s an ideal environment for someone eager to broaden their experience, deepen their commercial understanding and make a meaningful impact within a dynamic business.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly management accounts for development subsidiaries and joint ventures
- Review budgets, forecasts and reports prepared by joint venture partners
- Manage cashflows, banking drawdowns and covenant compliance
- Contribute to project appraisals, investment evaluations and financial models
- Produce annual statutory accounts and liaise with auditors
- Attend joint venture Board and Shareholder meetings
- Supervise and support finance team members
- Liaise with legal, tax and professional advisers
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes and reporting capability
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA / ICAS)
- 2-5 years post qualified experience in financial control / management role(s)
- Solid grounding in management and statutory reporting
- Strong Excel, modelling and analytical skills, with commercial awareness
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels
- Organised, proactive and detail-driven approach
- Exposure to property, development or investment sectors would be advantageous but not essential
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm to develop within a broad and varied role
