Job Description
W&A is working with a Glenrothes-based manufacturing group that has more than doubled revenue, expanded across the UK and Australia, and created a newly created Company Accountant role that sits close to decision-making.
You'll be the Finance Director's right hand, shaping monthly reporting, budgets and forecasts, and stepping in on key matters when required. Hybrid working is available.
The Opportunity
This is a broad, hands-on role owning financial and management accounting for the UK entities (with exposure to overseas sites) while partnering across operations. With transactional activity handled by a dedicated team, you'll focus on higher-value work: month-end close, insightful analysis, and forward-looking plans that support continued growth and acquisition activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce timely, accurate financial and management accounts each month.
- Lead inputs to the annual budget and deliver rolling monthly forecasts.
- Build strong relationships with UK and overseas sites to enhance reporting quality and consistency.
- Support ad-hoc finance projects and cover key Finance Director responsibilities in their absence.
- Collaborate with the Transactional Financial Controller and Accounts Assistant to streamline processes.
What You'll Bring
- Fully qualified accountant (e.g., CA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Breadth across financial and management reporting (not necessarily end-to-end ownership).
- Confidence engaging beyond finance, with the curiosity to build relationships across the business.
- Strong Excel capability and good working knowledge of accounting systems.
- Open to first-move-from-practice or a seasoned industry profile seeking a growth environment.
Package Benefits
- Competitive salary and benefits package (details available on request).
- Hybrid working pattern (Glenrothes).
- Role created for growth: broad scope with senior exposure.
- Reasons to Join High-impact remit with direct access to the Finance Director and leadership.
- Varied, commercially relevant workload, beyond the transactional.
- Exposure to multi-site, international operations and future acquisitions.
- Clear platform for progression as the group continues to scale.
