An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) professional to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Swindon. This is a standalone role offering the chance to take ownership of quality, health, safety and environmental activities across a busy operational site.

Working closely with senior leadership and site management, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring management systems, audits and accreditations remain effective and audit-ready. This position is predominantly office-based, with occasional flexibility to work from home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Lead and manage internal audit programmes across the business.
    • Maintain and continuously improve ISO management systems and accreditations.
    • Coordinate external audits and certification visits.
    • Ensure corrective and preventative actions are effectively implemented.
    • Maintain all QHSE documentation, procedures and records.
    • Support customer and supplier quality requirements where required.
    • Manage contractor compliance, inductions and documentation.
  • Health & Safety
    • Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation.
    • Manage risk assessments and safe systems of work.
    • Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
    • Monitor site safety standards, signage and compliance activities.
    • Coordinate fire safety, emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures.
    • Ensure First Aider and Fire Marshal coverage remains current and compliant.
    • Support maintenance and inspection programmes for safety equipment.
  • Environmental
    • Support compliance with environmental legislation and standards.
    • Monitor environmental performance and identify improvement opportunities.
    • Assist with waste management and environmental reporting activities.
  • Site Support
    • Promote a positive quality and safety culture across the business.
    • Deliver QHSE training, toolbox talks and awareness sessions.
    • Support management reporting, KPI monitoring and continuous improvement projects.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a QHSE, Compliance, Quality or Health & Safety position.
  • Experience managing ISO management systems and leading audits.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • The ability to work independently and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • Internal Auditor qualification.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • Experience within manufacturing, laboratory, chemical, coatings, medical products or similar regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
