If you’re looking to build your legal career in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment, whilst gaining hands-on experience, look no further. If you’ve decided that university is not the route for you but you are determined to follow a career in law, our Paralegal Apprenticeship scheme will give you a fantastic grounding and the opportunity to study and progress towards qualification as a Chartered Legal Executive or ultimately, a Solicitor. This role would be an excellent first step into a career in law, having completed A-level or equivalent study.
You will have the chance to earn while you learn, gaining valuable experience and skills as you work alongside our experienced professionals, learning the fundamentals of legal practice as we invest in your talents. This is a 24-month programme and after successful completion, you will gain a recognised CILEx qualification and be ready to move into a Paralegal role within the firm. You will have off-the-job time dedicated to your study which will be delivered by an authorised training provider and all course and training fees will be paid by the firm.
As a Paralegal Apprentice, you will provide support on a wide range of cases, whilst contributing to the ongoing growth of a firm that drives a culture of support. Your responsibilities may include:
- File creation and client care correspondence.
- Making and receiving telephone calls and dealing with telephone enquiries.
- Attending meetings and taking notes.
- Providing regular updates to clients as to the current situation of their case.
- Drafting documents such as letters, contracts, transfer deeds and leases under supervision.
- Carrying out legal research.
- Preparing completion statements, accounts forms, invoices and understanding client ledgers.
- Assisting with administrative duties such as photocopying, scanning, filing tasks and letter writing.
- Processing and recording payments.
- Undertaking preparation of court proceedings and utilising workflows on the case management system, under supervision.
- Attending and participating in departmental meetings.
Our entry requirements:
- 3 A-levels at grade C or above, or equivalent Level 3 qualification
- 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English at grade 4 or above
