Due to continued growth and increasing instructions, our Creditor Services Team is looking for a lawyer to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team undertaking a variety of specialist enforcement work to include contentious insolvency and order for sale work. The team supports a range of clients that require support from the point of billing onwards. The majority of work in the team relates to debt owed to local authority clients or the larger national energy suppliers.
The successful applicant will have a varied caseload that could include:
- Insolvency action - bankruptcy and winding up proceedings
- Contested insolvency applications
- Order for sale action
- County/high court litigation
- Magistrates court action
The market leading team is innovative and unique, having dual qualified solicitors and insolvency practitioners, providing clients with the full range of support needed. The local government solutions offered are strong - the team has had over 20,000 instructions over the last 10 years from 140 of the local authorities in England and Wales. Action predominantly relates to Council Tax, Business Rates and Adult Social Care debt.
In respect of non-local government work, a range of other clients also instruct the team in all aspects of debt litigation. Our Recoveries Department is ranked Tier 1 in the Legal 500 and has a growing reputation regionally and nationally. This reputation is reinforced by independent Legal 500 commentary, which highlights both the depth of insolvency expertise and the strength of the wider team.
