We have an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager in Wilful’s B2B team.

The role could involve anything from navigating the intricacies of carbon markets one minute, to leading a press trip to an ethics conference the next.

You will steer the day-to-day operations of accounts, being the first point of contact for clients.

You will have the chance to flex your creative muscles in content creation, writing, and campaign idea generation.

You will develop effective PR campaigns and media strategies for high-profile clients, building thought leadership and delivering measurable results.

The ideal candidate will have 3 years of relevant agency experience , a knack for multitasking, and an enthusiastic, adaptable personality.

Experience in, or a proven interest in, energy, green finance and infrastructure will be an advantage.

An undergraduate degree in PR, media, communications, journalism, politics, international development, geography or similar, will also be beneficial.

Experience or an interest in emerging markets would be useful, although not essential.

You wouldplay an instrumental role in supporting Wilful’s marketing, business development, committees and other internal initiatives, so an entrepreneurial and proactive mindset is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively build and implement PR strategy for clients.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with client contacts based on understanding of their industries, needs, and the brief we are delivering, and craft strategy plans accordingly.
  • Ensure day-to-day client operations run smoothly and PR results are delivered.
  • Research, craft news angles and draft content for clients.
  • Support and guide junior members of the team.
  • Draft story pitches, pitch press releases and feature ideas.
  • Secure and manage interview opportunities with key journalists through proactive pitching and story generation.
  • Speak to journalists regularly to develop useful relationships.
  • Monitor media coverage and help spot opportunities for clients.
  • Handle clients’ social media accounts and digital work (including SEO Management).
  • Deliver analytics reports on social media, reporting on traffic, engagement, and follower figures.
  • Activity calendar creation and management (aka forward planner).
  • Contribute to brainstorms with fresh ideas for PR campaigns.
  • BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & MARKETING
  • Contribute to new business activity and support on proposals.
  • Take responsibility for creating content for Wilful’s social media channels and website.
  • Provide programme delivery support and input ideas into Wilful’s marketing strategy.
  • Attendance at external networking events as well as Wilful-led initiatives.
  • REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Excellent command of English language writing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, willing to work as part of a team.
  • Motivated to meet client KPIs.
  • Ability to prioritise, manage time and forward plan effectively.
  • A passion for news and a strong awareness of current affairs.
  • Ability to work across different teams and specialities.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Good knowledge of the use of digital tools and social media.
  • Willingness to take initiative, own and take responsibility for work.
  • Awareness of new media developments and latest communications industry developments.
  • Creativity, proactivity, and ideas sharing.
