We are looking for a Senior Manager, Product Management to lead the product function for Wiley's Clinical Outcome Assessment (COA) platform suite, part of our AI and Data Analytics organisation. The role owns the multi‑product roadmap for our COA platform portfolio, including the foundational COA database that holds Wiley's clinical measurement intellectual property, and a suite of customer‑facing platform products that surface, score, and contextualise that content for pharmaceutical and CRO customers. The role manages an offshore engineering team and works closely with our scientific affairs, commercial, and AI specialists to translate clinical and customer needs into deliverable product. The role reports to the Senior Director, Clinical Outcome Assessments.
Job Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the multi‑product roadmap for the COA platform suite, sequenced against commercial milestones and supported by clear prioritisation criteria.
- Manage an offshore engineering team, including hiring, performance management, capability development, and day‑to‑day operating model across time zones.
- Lead end‑to‑end product delivery, from discovery and definition through release, instrumentation, and iteration based on customer feedback and product analytics.
- Partner with engineering on architecture, technology choices, and AI‑enabled features, including LLM integration, retrieval, and content tooling.
- Work alongside scientific affairs, commercial, and the broader AI and Data Analytics product community to ensure platform decisions are clinically sound, commercially relevant, and aligned with shared standards.
- Own data integrity, intellectual property handling, and data privacy controls across the platform suite, including alignment with regulatory expectations for clinical measurement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Significant product management experience on B2B software platforms, data products, or specialist enterprise applications.
- Demonstrated track record managing engineering teams, including offshore or distributed teams.
- Experience owning a multi‑product roadmap and delivering against committed milestones.
- Direct experience shipping AI‑enabled product features, such as LLM integration, retrieval‑based applications, or other generative or predictive AI capabilities.
- Working knowledge of AI and machine learning tooling, including vector databases and LLM‑based product patterns.
- Sound judgement on where AI capability genuinely improves a product versus where it adds risk or complexity without proportionate value.
- Strong technical depth: comfortable with architecture conversations, build versus buy decisions, and technical trade‑offs.
- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to communicate complex product and technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in computer science, life sciences, health informatics, or business.
- Direct experience in clinical research, healthcare data, life sciences, or pharmaceutical platforms.
- Experience working with Clinical Outcome Assessment (COA) tools, electronic COA (eCOA), or real world evidence.
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7, CDISC) and clinical data structures.
- Familiarity with model evaluation, prompt engineering, and AI safety considerations in product contexts.
- Understanding of copyright and intellectual property frameworks for clinical content.
- Experience working in regulated data environments (clinical, healthcare, pharmaceutical).
