About the Role:
Wiley's Corporate Sales team, Health Sciences, helps pharmaceutical and medical equipment companies grow, by providing them with digital content, reach and technology. The team is part of the Audience Solutions unit, and our services include online advertising, sponsored publications, educational websites and webinars, all based on the reach and authority of Wiley's scientific journal portfolio and society network.
Based on a growing demand for global educational programs from both health care professionals and pharma sponsors, we are expanding our health sciences solutions. To quickly respond to the changes in the market, we have formed a new multi-disciplinary business unit to dedicate its time, knowledge and skills solely on developing new business in the Independent Medical Education (IME) space.
We are looking for a new Senior Account Manager to join and expand our existing experienced sales team to look after accounts in the US & EMEA. The target customers sit mainly in Pharma Medical Affairs. Products and services include independently developed CME accredited and non-CME accredited activities, such as digital events, educational Knowledge Hubs, eLearning and text-based learning format aligned to Wiley's Journal Portfolio and commercial supplements.
How you will make an impact:
- Develop and maintain proactive prospecting and engagement with a defined base of "direct" (non-agency) clients, focused on understanding clients' medical education objectives and driving new business opportunities.
- Use a consultative selling approach to recommend appropriate solutions.
- Acquire new customers and build and maintain strong business relationships.
- Work with Wiley Marketing, Project, and Editorial teams to understand clients' strategies and future direction.
- Leverage this insight to develop strategic proposals for clients.
- Act as the primary point of contact at Wiley for assigned accounts and clients.
- Build account strategies for assigned accounts, in alignment with Wiley's Global Account Planning initiative.
- Meet or exceed Corporate Sales revenue targets for EMEA and US accounts.
- Develop long-term customer relationships that drive sustainable revenue growth.
- Bring a proven network and a track record of expansion and growth contributions.
We are seeking Candidates who:
- Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience and an established network in an Account Manager or Sales role within an agency and/or medical education company.
- Experience with the educational grant submission process for major U.S. and EU pharmaceutical and medical device companies, across both CME and non-CME grants.
- 4–5 years of experience selling medical education solutions to the pharmaceutical and medical device industry.
- Strong knowledge of medical education solutions within the pharmaceutical and medical device space.
- Direct experience working with key clients in the market, including an understanding of their needs, purchasing processes, and industry trends.
- Enthusiasm for a sales role that requires developing customized and creative solutions for clients.
- Strong problem-solving skills to manage complex and varying sales processes.
- A sales-oriented mindset with the ability to meet or exceed financial targets.
- The ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, including Project Management, Sales, Editorial, and Marketing.
- A data-driven, analytical, and accountable approach to work.
- The ability to build strong alliances and influence key decision-makers.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
