Position Overview
The Regional Marketing Manager role (maternity cover) will deliver on the marketing plans across key markets, drive campaign activity to generate author and submission growth, and support cross-team projects to drive growth in emerging markets. This is a creative and hands‑on role within the Regional Marketing team, working alongside other Marketing Managers and global teams to achieve growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Lead
- Own campaign planning and execution for Japan, with a strong focus on managing Line as a primary channel for researcher engagement.
- Develop and optimise Line-based marketing activity to drive submissions and local engagement.
- Coordinate with in‑market partners and internal stakeholders to ensure campaigns are locally relevant and on‑brief.
- Work with translation teams to adapt and localise content where needed.
- Lead marketing execution in support of the One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative in India.
- Align campaigns with ONOS priorities and institutional outreach, working closely with regional colleagues and the portfolio development team.
- Marketing Campaigns and Growth
- Lead ideation and execution of marketing campaigns to drive new and repeat submissions and to improve author engagement across priority markets.
- Develop test‑and‑learn approaches with clear evaluation windows and measurable KPIs.
- Develop author‑facing content on Wiley.com to engage researchers with localized and translated content.
- Support transformative agreement (TA) strategies through close collaboration with the OA marketing team.
- Identify advertising placements across local media and work with agencies where needed to extend reach.
- Emerging Markets Project Support
- Support and provide input on strategic projects aimed at growing Wiley's presence in emerging markets, ensuring regional perspectives are embedded in business‑wide initiatives.
- Contribute market intelligence, landscape analysis, and campaign frameworks as needed.
- Lead on the Early Career Researcher engagement project for target markets.
- Reporting, Content, and Team Alignment
- Manage the content calendar tool for Line to ensure close team alignment and effective audience targeting.
- Use dashboards effectively to measure and report on all marketing activity consistently.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
- Demonstrated success in a marketing role, with a track record of delivering high‑performing, data‑driven campaigns.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment and adapt quickly to changing requirements.
- Experience running data‑driven, objective‑led campaigns across email, search, social, and local platforms.
- Familiarity with messaging platforms such as Line, WeChat, or similar.
- Strong project management skills – comfortable managing a busy workstream across global time zones.
- Experience working with translation/localisation processes and adapting content for local markets.
- Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working remotely with international teams.
Salary Range
44,800 GBP to 64,133 GBP
