About The Role
The Editor-in-Chief will work within a team of in-house editors to provide strategic leadership and scholarly vision for Advanced Computing. This role ensures the journal remains at the forefront of computing research by upholding the highest standards of quality, integrity, and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Direction: Define and refine the journal’s scope, priorities, and special issues.
- Editorial Leadership: Recruit a diverse editorial board; oversee peer-review processes and timelines.
- Quality & Integrity: Enforce rigorous methodological standards, reproducibility, and ethical compliance.
- Community Engagement: Foster relationships with global research communities, industry, and policy stakeholders.
- Innovation: Champion open science, artifact evaluation, and responsible AI practices.
- Peer Review Management: Oversee manuscript review and decision-making.
Educational Requirements
- Ph.D. (or equivalent) in:
- Computer Science
- Electrical/Computer Engineering
- Applied Mathematics
- Data Science or Information Science (with strong CS emphasis)
- Preferred expertise in two or more areas, such as:
- Theoretical CS & Algorithms
- Software Engineering & Programming Languages
- Systems & Networks
- Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, HCI
- Security, Privacy & Cryptography
- Emerging paradigms (Quantum, Neuromorphic, Bio-computing)
Experience & Qualifications
- Scholarly Impact: Extensive publication record in top-tier CS venues.
- Editorial Experience: Preferably in a senior role such as Deputy Editor or Editor-in-Chief role. Associate Editors, Program Chairs, or similar will also be considered.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage distributed teams and deliver timely decisions.
- Ethics & Responsible Computing: Familiarity with fairness, transparency, and privacy standards.
- Interdisciplinary Reach: Demonstrated collaboration across multiple CS domains.
